Paul Midy is a Renaissance deputy for Paris-Saclay (Essonne) and a member of the National Digital Council.

Before entering politics, he primarily had a career as an entrepreneur. He founded his first IT services startup, "Goondi," while studying at École Polytechnique.

Subsequently, he joined the first African unicorn, Jumia, the equivalent of the "African Amazon": he was CEO of Jumia Travel (the travel branch), CEO of Jumia One (online payment solution), and then CMO of the group. Upon his return to France, he became CEO of Fritchti, the grocery and meal delivery startup.

In 2019, he became the general manager of La République en Marche, before being elected as a deputy in June 2022.

As a member of the Economic Affairs Committee in the National Assembly, he focuses his energy on digital issues and works in particular on the development of the French Tech and the regulation of digital spaces.

In January 2023, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne entrusted Paul Midy with a mission to support investment in startups and innovative SMEs.

The report was submitted to the Government in June 2023, and the flagship measure of the report, the "Young Companies" measure, was announced by the President of the Republic at the Viva Tech trade fair.

This measure, which aims to double the number of young innovative companies benefiting from support to raise funds, to recruit, in cash flow, and to access public procurement, was included in the State budget for 2024. The "Young Companies" measure will double the number of young innovative companies benefiting from this support and strengthen support for breakthrough innovation (Deep tech).

In August 2023, Paul Midy was appointed General Rapporteur of the bill aimed at securing and regulating the digital space.

In October 2023, the law was widely adopted in the National Assembly. It provides a set of measures to combat cyberbullying and violence on social networks, protect children from access to pornographic sites, and implement the European DSA and DMA regulations.
